MMFF PAGPAG

Before we had our Christmas Break, our professor in Art Appreciation told us that we must watch at least one entry of MMFF and make a critique about it.
On December 27, 2013 me and my sister watched PAGPAG(Siyam na Buhay). The theme of the movie is about the superstitious belief of the Filipino that one should not go home directly after going to a wake for you might be trailed by the spirit of the dead.
At first I thought that i will not enjoy the movie because I am not really fan of a horror movie nor "KathNiel" Love Team. Why would i spent money just to scare myself and might not able to sleep at night? LOL. But my sister insisted to watch the movie since she's a die hard fan of the two.
As I expected, every time Kathrine Bernardo and Daniel Padilla have their sweet moment, all the audience kept on shouting "YIEEEE!". There was one instance a man shouted "Hoy horror movie to hindi Got To Believe!"  and then everybody laughed.
Watching the movie was great. It was more of a fun than scary. There were also comedy part in the movie that made me laugh especially when the part that Janus got drunk and scared Kathrine in the morgue. The characters in the movie really made the story more interesting. They all contributed to the success of this movie.
In terms of the effects, the artists made it so      realistic. The makeup of Paulo Avelino       really scared the audience. The sound effects   were so effective. The scary parts were so unpredictable that would really make you scream when it comes. The twists also made the movie a must watch. The focusing and transitioning were also the best. No dull moments in the movie. All the scenes were eye catching. It is like when you blink, you will miss a very important part in the movie. The director of this movie should be given the credit because it was a job well done.
I expect to watch a great movie like this on the next Metro Manila Film Festival.
